Well my fellow collectors...ive decided to step it up! In addition to my proof collection that is a mere 12 coins from completion 1950-current(2014 release in april) I am now goin after the P&D&S (non proof) the sky is now the limit I have been assembling pre 1950 as near unc date sets in whitman 5 coin sets for awhile and have just a few. All those mint sets I chopped up for the lincoln cents for my dansco now have a home. I have to repurchase all of the 1971-1982 mint sets but its all good!! Here is my biggest problem: the dansco kennedy P&D book is a bugger to find and when I do seems everyone wants 50+ for one so I opted for the kennedy PDSS book... Would it look silly if I omited the silver 1992-current silvers? As I have them in a seperate proof book and since I have never seen a 1950-1963 dansco franklin proof book? What would you all do?

Hey there. I'm pretty much going though the same thing; taking uncirculated mint sets, cutting them up, and Dansco'ing them. I also had an issue tracking down the 7166 Kenndedy Halves album. It took me 4 tries to find someone who actually had it on stock. Ended up grabbing mine for around $28 from Golden Eagle Coins. I started with a purchase of 1970-2006 mint sets and am still working out things with ebay sellers making things right. I had bad luck with 2 different sellers having either wrong year or wrong mint marked coins in what would be the correct envelope. e.g. 1976 set in the 1977 envelope or 2006-P State Quarters in the 2007-D envelope. So far from their mess up it looks like I'm getting some extra MS coins out of the deal, so I'm not complain too much. I'm still working on the 1982 and 1983 uncircs which I'm taking my time with and being careful. I can't wait until I get 1970 to current date done and can start working backwards.

Thats more or less me as well.. The cents and nickels is what I chased and once I had those it only made sense for another book and since the only proofs I dont have in my proof book is the 1992-current clads those are the only ones I will get for the PDSS book unless I find the silvers inexpensive but knowing me the empty holes will make me crazy and I will end up recollecting them all.

I'm not sure if that first link from 52Raymo would bear the #7166 number. It is described as "1964-1974 Album with 24 unmarked slots " That might be an older model because #7166 has slots labeled up to year 2017.
The second link is a single page (the last page) from the 7166 model.

It's tricky, because I bought two of the #7166's on ebay last week and both of them the sellers really didn't have them in stock. One contacted me and sent a refund. The other I had to approach and ask why he hadn't sent anything yet. Along with other popular sites for Dansco's being out of stock of these, I think the supply has really dwindled.

What I did for this album was to get an 8166 since I was busting proof sets as well. The only problem was I wasn't doing the silver sets with the exception of the dimes so I had an open hole. Since I was busting multiple sets looking for the best coins, I took the left over Kennedy's an put them in backwards. It actually looks pretty cool since the holes are in a column.

Amazon has them but they're like 38 bucks. Didn't bother to check shipping.

Just one more reason I use Whitman. Never could figure out why so many complain about Dansco and keep on buying them. And just what is wrong about mixiing companies? Usually you hear but they all look so nice. Yet those are the same people that can not show them to anyone. IF you look into other manufacturers of Albums, you may find more of what you like or want. One great thing about Whitman is you can make your own Albums.

Well my collection is all dansco, I've solver the problem with the 8166 and going to combine my proof book to 3 other albums and just changed my franklin book and included the 1950-1963 proof and made a slot for the 56 ty1 and ty2 and in reality I need 10 Kennedy halves to complete the 8166 called the dansco store and put a order in for the 8167 which is schelduled for this friday and that will be a 2012 pdss etc. book. This is quite fun. And the funny part is I have most of the p&d coins for the other books this has become quite the collection!
