How to save money on postage.

All right, now we have to offer free postage or get charged on it anyway.
So, how does one try to defray the horrendous cost of postage and an
ebay gouge on postage as well?
One way, is to use older mint Australian decimal stamps on your mail, rather than labels.
When one knows where to look, they can be bought in lots for about 65% of the face value, a saving of one third of the cost.
People love getting stamps on their mail, rather than boring labels, so it is good for customer relations as well.
I have been doing this for 15 years and it does help, in fact, in all that time, I have NEVER bought stamps from the PO at the face value.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, stamp collecting was big, but like many hobbies, it has retracted or changed direction over the years.
Many stamp collections from this period come onto the market through major auctions/dealers, etc and can often be bought for this amount.
You see them listed on
ebay sometimes at about 80% of face, this cost relects the approx 65% plus the fees and charges for someone to sell them via
ebay.
If anyone would like further details on where they can be obtained for around 65% send me an email and I will try and point you in the right direction.
The trouble for sellers with this latest effort from
ebay is that you know, they are never going to stop, just more and more pain piled onto sellers, which is depressing. Like watching a slow motion train wreck.
Naturally I, like many others, will make my complaint to the ACCC, but I am not holding my breath.
Sad really,
ebay used to be a good place for sellers, now, it is not and just getting worse.
