Well, So far my feeble coin collection consists of : $20 for $20 (2014 subscription) $100 for $100 (2014 subscription) O Canada 1/10oz gold (2014 subscription) I've ordered the 2013 Fab 15 subscription and a Venetian Glass Frog Coin. I would like to collect all the privy F12 & F15 coins and eventually pick up the other 3 coins from the Venetian glass series. I've also purchased a few F15 2012 privy coins to get me started that haven't arrived yet. I will continue to collect all the $20 for $20,$100 for $100 & eventually $50 for $50. Down the road I would like to collect a series of US coins but not sure what yet ? Any ideas ? ASE ? I haven't been on my other hobby's forum in a couple weeks as I've been enjoying this forum so much. Thanks to everyone here that helped me out getting started. The ASE being the same design have some nice variations for particular year (2012 or 2013): *BU Finish *Reverse Proof finish *Proof Finish *Selective Proof finish - very unusual Also Mint marks differences - do not know about them much. I think there is some very nice set, that has them all.

The early F12/15s can be tough/expensive. Charlton doesn't list them all 2007 F12 5,000 2008 F12 5,000 2009 F12 5,000 2010 F15 2011 F15 2012 F15 10,000 2013 F15 10,000

Sounds like your building a nice collection already. The F12/15 really are hard to come by. It took me a while to find them all. Of course if you just throw money at it then you'd be able to find them easily but I always try to get them for a price I think is fair so I guess that would be the reason it's taken me so long. AS the Charlton does not list the 2010 I almost did not purchase it. I wasn't sure if I was purchasing a real maple. As for my 2011 it came with the same RCM coa and blue box we got with the 2012 and 2013 so it look more legitimate.

I have lots of time and am in no rush and wanted something that I would have to dig & research a little. There seems like there's a lot of great people here on the forum that wouldn't mind helping me out if I get bogged down.

I have thought of purchasing F15 series from the mint but I can't justify paying $100 for a few regular issue bullion coins. I do like the display box.

I was having trouble finding a suitable way to display / store my 20 for 20s with the cardboard COAs (frustrating). I finally gave up and sold them all as a flat rate take em all for $25.00 each. Problem solved and I can roll the money into some more interesting things like a couple of F15 Kangaroos at Sunset.
I kept one polar bear and one canoe.

By the way, forgive me for throwing in my own thoughts on the subject. More importantly....Welcome Sherwooddavid. I hope you enjoy the chase. I recently started going to real world auctions. It's way more fun than clicking around ebay. Best of luck.

I dunno Sherwood, you are wrong for saying its "feeble". I think you have a very impressive collection to start and its going to keep growing so dont sell yourself short my friend. When I started I hadnt even HEARD about F15 coins as an example. You are starting out with some very nice coins, not the run of the mill type and I like your taste in collecting. This is good tho, you are going for more unique higher end coins and you like them, so those two things are great to have. Remember to try to have goals in collecting and learn about the various series and offerings from the various mints throughout the years so you can really get the biggest bang for your buck for your collection in terms of getting the coins you really like. As an example, I started with US coins, branched out to the various mints from governments. Little did I know there were private mints that turn out even nicer coins... so as time has gone by, and by being a member here and learning whats offered, I started to narrow my focus because thats what I liked. As an example, I have decided I want to focus on elephant coins, then I allow for some other types of coins with birds, rhinos, etc. For new ideas of coins, members here always are talking about new coins, here in the Canada forum, avail yourself of the help and expertise of Mr Silveroid, hes extremely helpful and smart about what coins are unique and interesting, things that you just might want to add to your focus. The skies the limit,,, however we all have max dollars to play with. So take your time, research and then strike! Also, learn to use ebay, find out whos who of dealers, watch prices to get the best deals.... stretch your hobby dollars! Anyways, welcome to the hobby and I hope your collection grows as it will... and keep up the good choices in coins!

I haven't been on my other hobby's forum in a couple weeks as I've been enjoying this forum so much. Thanks to everyone here that helped me out getting started. Good Morning all, I had a change of plan in the last week. After researching the F12 & F15 I'm starting to realize that there would be a lot of repetition and a lot of bullion coins that I would be paying a high price for. Its hard even trying to find out what coins are included in the yearly F12 & F15 sets. So I have a new and new evolving plan : 1. Collect all the F12 & F15 PRIVY coins from 2007-2012 ( approximately 20 coins) 2. Start a world coin collection of 20-30 coins.(Based on CCF members collections) 3. Purchase the F15 yearly as long as its available. Anyway that's it for now. I will post a list of the world coins I world coins that I would like to obtain. Any comments or suggestions welcomed. sherwooddavid
