Hello,
my dad has worked at J.P Morgan in England for over 20 years, and during that time he acquired a medallion/coin. I cannot find out any information about it online or anything at all. I've spoken to some coin dealers and they have not seen it/heard of it as well. I am out of luck. One I spoke to described it at a 'private commission'.
My dad recons that only people who worked at Chase in Europe during 1999 were given it so it is not that common. On one side it has a large euro design; however, it is 40mm in diameter. On the other side it has 'Chase' 'In commemoration of European Economic and Monetary Union' '1st January 1999'
If you have information about it or would like to give me a price guide of it I would certainly welcome it.

Here is a link to the images of the coin/medallion: *** Link removed by the Staff ***

Hello and welcome.

Here are the pics JacobA was trying to link to:

Such privately commissioned medals can have very small mintages indeed; there is usually no documentation on their existence unless some dedicated collector of, for example, banking-related medals has included it in their catalogue.

There isn't going to be a "price guide" for it; it will be worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. I should point out at this stage that just because something is "rare" (as your medal apparently is), does not automatically make it valuable. High value requires both low supply (rarity) and high demand (a large number of collectors that would want to buy one). There aren't too many collectors who would want this medal.

For finding more information about it, the only thing I can suggest is getting in touch with Chase; they might employ an archivist or historian who keeps track of such things.

Thanks for the response and sorting out the images/links. I realise I'm not supposed to post links yet but the image uploader wasn't co-operating. I will look into talking to chase directly.
Thank you.

It is not so much that you linked, but where you linked. That hosting site can be a little... unfriendly... to young eyes.
