Here is one I picked up a few years back and had in a box with other silver. It does have minor hairline scratches on the obverse and noticeable scratches/nicks on the reverse over 'One Dime' and the right side rim, but overall a nice looking Barber dime. I have my own non-expert opinion, but thoughts on grade factoring in the above? Thanks!

The coin is too bright n' shiny to me, and the hairlines don't help...
AU Details cleaned. Why not MS? Well, the bit of wear on Liberty's hair below the word LIBERTY is the giveaway.

Quote: Matteproof > AU details........cleaned. Why did anyone have to clean a nice Barber? It was a dug coin (metal detecting) from years ago. :) Most of the surface abrasion resulted from its being in the ground for decades (ground thaw/refreeze) and while being recovered. The coin still had luster on it when dug up. I did use a very soft toothbrush while holding the coin under running water to gently remove the embedded surface soil. Still, it may have added to the surface abrasion. Thanks for your thought on the grade!
