As a little bonus for buying some Canadian Silver Dollars, I was given a $1,000,000 bank note from the company I ordered from!

It's really neat and attractive, and a good conversation piece.

What I would like to know is has the Government ever issued One Million Dollar bank notes?

No, there never was a million dollar bill. There was a five hundred, a thousand, and a five thousand, all of which are now out of circulation, and a hundred thousand, which never made it into circulation.

I found this on another website blog.

I think I saw some episode on TV in the past, that a hotel or casino have a frame hanging on the wall and they consider the amount of highest denomination and the number of bill or note that is frame is in one place something like that.

Isn't a bit of an irony that the US Treasury printed a $100000 gold certificate for use in Federal Reserve banks when American citizens could not legally hold gold?

The Binion Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas had a display of 100 $10,000 bills. Apparently, this represented about half of the known surviving population. The notes were from the personal collection of Ted Binion and were sold off when he was murdered about 10 years ago. Binion also had over 100,000 silver dollars buried in the desert which was one of the contributing factors in his death.

The people that were convicted for the murder were later let go because of new evidence and a new legal approach.

But it seems funny the night he died his wife's "boyfriend" went out and dug up the silver and was caught doing it.

If I remember correctly, didn't Rip Torn make a bet using a $10,000 bill in the bad Bette Midler movie Jinxed? I remember they had an older gentleman, who was the casino's bill expert, come out and make sure it was legit. He stroked it softly mentioning how beautiful it was.and then the dealer folds it in half and shoved it into the table slot. :o
