Thanks to Bill Snyder (nice library - no doubt - it helps!) - only other recorded specimen see Charles Wyatt Mail Bid #13 (5/2/86:915).

Organic interference but extrapolating a 90% silver period host coin. See spectrograph (SEM/EDS) on coin. Good die breaks/lettering/die filled areas as in the regals.

Metrology: 39.2 mm; 22.5 grams, milled edge.

KMC# L53.1

Are you sure this couldn't be a miss-applied punch ?
EDIT : just saw the other post, it's indeed an incomplete die punch. At least, it's not like similar war issues from this place / period - where each coin was hand struck (one of them even have the border design hand-engraved)

On this issue I will also investigate if the contemporaries MATCH UP to the regal issues (i.e., obverse/reverse die matching). Why? They are so well made ... just thinking in times of low silver inventories? ... could be just crazy thinking ... simply because it seems to have occurred in the Mexican WOI - but I realize that situation is UNIQUE.

Just an extra note - I went into the bank today to look at my fake 30 sous. I have: 1- Silver wash (not silver plate) over brass, bronze & brass. On these if you look in that inverted upright rectangle shape above SALUS POPULI in the bottom left quadrant the tree or bush looks like a starburst with NO two berries hanging down unlike the top right quadrant. Its all the same on all THREE CCs. On this VI piece (actually found a THIRD which I have to analyze) the two bushes have the two berries hanging down in both quadrants mentioned above - and the die breaks below the bushes.
They are both low weight - unfortunately the only regal I have is in a ANACS holder and its XF40 from a Heritage sale.
I will confirm if this third known VI is silver/copper and then maybe sell it on ebay under Foreign Errors and Spain with the Spectrograph and cite the other specimen seen from the Bill Snyder reference find in the other post.

It just became more complex - I bought a contemporary counterfeit that had two berries on each tree which appears it was struck with regal dies. These off metals may have been made during periods of low silver inventory? Why then counterfeit these 30 Sous? Strange ... these off-metals are indeed very well made ... to be contunued ... need to compare these berry trees with more regals.
