Is anyone aware of examples of die clashing on Modern day coins without another coin denomination? If one popped up what would that mean? With our modern day minting process I don't know how it would be possible but I heard about it happening a year ago.

What? There was a very nice die clash that sold recently on ebay. If anyone want a peek I have more images of it?

Lol OK I'll try to conjure up an example pic to show what I mean. It is hard to explain. It's like a background image for the real image...

OK please please please don't throw rotten fruit at me for this pic but it has been a topic of interest for the past 4 yrs. This isn't the best specimen but is one I am most certain is an example of this clashing, theme piece, whatever you might call it. I really only heard rumors about them and decided to see if they were true or not. Not saying what is fact by any means but this penny dated 1946 has a raised FS initial rt smack dab in the middle of the lower wheat stalks and (in my opinion) a face that will become even more clear as the rubble clears. It already has become much nicer just over a short period of time. I hate posting stuff like this b/c it only makes me look crazy lol! But in the end maybe I'll accomplish something by it...

Who can I send this off to certify? Study? It's a fun one I assure you. The second initial may or may not be an S. For the time being it looks like one. It will also be a good way to see if I can even possess the darn thing lol!

That 2013 clash sold for a good deal of money.

Im not seeing any FS in the wheat stalks. Are you saying that dies from two different denominations of coins clashed?

All I see is a badly stained and corroded coin. I kind of see the "FS" you are talking about, but I think that is just a case where the damage to the coin resembles something, sort of like seeing the image of Elvis on a piece of burnt toast.
