DVcollector - that's right, especially given the very slight MAD the coin appears to have. Do I see a 'broken E' in STATES? If so, I say that this coin is real.

The wavy bases could be due to metal flow if the collar wasn't completely around the coin
.

DV-wouldn't that affect the top of the letters as well as the bases. I just have never seen it on any other IHC. I'm not arguing with you, just asking.

I think it would be less because the direction of metal flow is from the center to the rims. In other words, metal is flowing away from the bases of legends and towards the tops of legends, producing a better strike there. But I'm not an expert on strike errors...I'm just paraphrasing something I read.

Good spot--yeah, that matches the broken "ES" listed for this year in my Snow guides.

09-S is a fake, the IHC appears to be a cleaned XF/AU

Wavy letter bases are common on Capped Bust Halves. Here's detail from an 1823.

Your all being to nasty to the counterfeiter that spent a lot of time making that 09S. Should give him a little credit for trying. And remember he will get better with time. Time possibly spent in a jail.

What troubles me on the IHC is the base of the letters of 'AMERI' in AMERICA, for lack of a better term they look indented. On all IHC I have ever seen the bases of the letters are basically flat.
