In my constant quest for the Lincoln Cent..in box after box of coins,
todays mystery finds are below.

Two pennies with the obverse a bit off center.

Is there any value...any interest with these circulated specimens...

Thanks as always....

I have a 1972 penny that's the same way. About the same distance off on the obverse.

Probably not too much over face value, but it's still cool.

Those are not off center strikes. They are misaligned die strikes. The difference is that off center strikes are struck out of the collar, both sides would be off center, and they are less common. Misaligned die strikes happen when the obverse die is slightly tilted in the press and are very common. They can easily be spotted because they are struck in collar and the reverse will be in proper alignment. The only pieces worth any premium at all are the ones that have missing design elements due to the alignment problem. The coins in this thread are not worth any premium value.

I concur. I have several of the same type, and have wondered why there isn't any, or as much interest in them, due to the fact that they ARE VAM's Obviously there would have to be a lot, 50%, or more to make it worthy of any premium, other conditions notwithstanding. Then there are the MAD's, where BOTH sides are EQUALLY displaced, (Correct me if I am wrong, if you will, Chuck)

Misaligned die strikes that are errors with little premium. they would probably sell on ebay with a good photo.

I have seen some MAD errors that are more off and do carry a nice premium.

I am looking for a nice (great) example of one with a certain date.

nice finds, errror

Thank you all for the info...

I most likely will post them up on ebay, since I am not interested in them...
