Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so moderator please move if necessary. Just need as much help as possible reporting this counterfeit coin before someone gets burned. I have already reported it. Thanks.

A VF coin would NOT have that much luster.

Are there any other giveaways besides the luster?

The seller has only 8 feedback ratings, one of them negative. And it appears that he deals mostly in Magic the Gathering cards that sell for pennies. The only coin I saw in his feedback was an 1889 CC Dollar that sold for $910.

Kind of makes me wonder if the Morgan he sold recently was genuine.

It's totally fake. Kind of obvious to one who knows a little about that minor variety. Has none of the 1922 no D die markers. I've seen this same fake coin offered before by other scammers.

Wow..ok and didn't think of the markers,DUH lol-that is absolutely ridiculous-I can possibly see someone w no knowledge tryn to sell the coin and one mistake mabi but a 2nd fake coin...and shouldn't be selling something with a claim you know nothing about if that was the case! So in my opinion honestly if this is the 2nd time then this guy should not be allowed on ebay ever again to sell stuff and the guys who got scammed should demand their money back or go to court and I feel ebay is partly at fault...my opinion

Regardless of whose fault it is, the buyer should always beware. It still stinks even if the seller is unaware that he's selling counterfeits but who doesn't do a little research before dropping $500 or more on a coin (heck, $10 or more, for that matter)?

I wonder how much money ebay would lose if they put a "check CCF before buying coins" link on every coin-related auction.

True and in reality is the seller really misrepresenting what he's selling? Says you get coin in picture...says it's 1922 w no D mintmark-didn't say it's authentic or why there's no mintmark-I mean honestly would there even be any recourse? Think about it...so yes-due diligence..problem is I think people automatically trust what's on ebay and counterfeit don't cross many peoples minds probably, people not in the coin game for very long

That CC Morgan is also a counterfeit. I've seen a lot of that lately where they apply the fake patina near the edges. Almost makes it more obvious.

IMO there is absolutely recourse for a buyer. Seller calls it a Lincoln Cent Coin, and it isn't. Unless seller clearly states that it's a novelty item, or not genuine in some way, one has to assume that's it's implied to be genuine....otherwise you could sell counterfeit money all day long and claim immunity because you never said that any of it was real. That just doesn't make sense. Have we come to a place where EVERY coin sold has to be stated to be genuine, or it has to be assumed to be fake? I hope not.
