1996-P Jefferson Nickel Rim Question

Sudz Pillar of the Community United States 1572 Posts	Posted 05/10/2014 9:12 pm I almost exclusively focus on small cents, so I have a question with regards to this nickel: Is this a normal rim for a Jefferson nickel? It basically has a second, outer rim all the way around both sides of the coin, kind of like a MAD coin has for part of one side of the rim. All opinions are appreciated, thanks. Sudz Pillar of the Community United States 1572 Posts	Posted 05/11/2014 01:00 am Okay, it most likely is something other than grinding and it also must be fairly common with nickels (and therefore no big deal), because I just found a 1987-P nickel with nearly identical rims.
