How many CCF members have mint subscriptions? Have you been pleased with them year to year? I am considering the ASE proof subscription, but want some CCF input beforehand.

i subscribe to 2 items. the only problem I have had is when I didn't update the credit card for one that had expired and then it was a little back and forth to get the card updated and the order shipped. but I like the idea that I don't need to remember to look for the item each year. the mint emails me a couple of weeks in advance of when the card will actually be charged so its not a surprise on the bill, and the recent decision to give a discount for subscriptions means that the discount pretty much covers the shipping cost for 1 item. All in all I plan to keep the couple of subscriptions I currently have (including the ASE proof).

Some offer a 10% discount, so if it's likely that you'd be buying anyway, it's a good idea.

I've had subscriptions for years and have generally been happy. As adambur said, just have to update your CC when it expires.
I have had an issue recently where the web site says there was an issue displaying all my subscriptions so whenever I have to make a change I have to call now. Not sure what's going on there.

If you plan on buying the series then there is really no downside with the subs. I have subs for ASE W's and proofs, silver PF sets and 5 oz. ATB's all with 10% discounts

I have a subscription of the yearly Mint Set. The mint should be shipping mine in a few days, and the temporary charge on my CC looks like I got a small discount on the price My only complaint/issue with my subscription: it seems to take a while for them to get to subscriptions of mint sets. They may not have a large profit margin, so I can understand, sort of.

Like many I have subscriptions. This year the mint offers a discount on several products and it makes the subscriptions even more worth it. Last year I canceled all my subscriptions when the prices were changing frequently due to the silver price fluctuations and I got burned when the mint filled my subscription to the silver proof set and then a week later dropped the price substantially - burning most of us who had subscribed.
If you plan on buying the coin or coins anyway it isn't a bad idea to subscribe, if those are the only coins you buy from the mint then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Where it gets a little dicey for many is when you buy several products from the mint throughout the year - and then start adding up shipping fees. Since there is seldom a concern for any sellouts - you are better off not making a subscription - and just waiting and buying them as a group for a single shipping fee.
The mint would have a winner if they offered a 1 time shipping fee for subscriptions. Once you subscribe to a subscription you pay for shipping on that subscription and any other subscriptions are shipped free.

@Doug58s - your logic is sound indeed. Two observations - there are those sneaky surprise sellouts to be wary of, and sometimes it's easier to parcel purchases out over the year than take the hit all at once.

Should be getting mine shortly, and that will complete the "major" mint sets for the year. Tragically, my wallet will not see any relief with the remaining 4 ATB pucks coming up.
