With the light on this picture, I can't make heads or tails of what I'm looking at details-wise.

I see the flat, shelf like reducing the size of the devices machine damaged last 9 of the date. Not hub doubling. Hub doubling enlarges the devices. Not seeing that on your coin.

Same coin? If so, now it's missing the 9 MD. I think your lighting is playing tricks on you?

I Just see a normal coin. If a coin is showing hub doubling (A doubled die) then there should be enlarged devices/a spread between the hubbings/notching in the corners of devices. I I'm not seeing any of that on your coin.
Here is an example of comparing a normal coin with hub doubling:

Here is a doubled die that show the notching in the corners of the devices:

Hey COOP, Do you have the hand drawn 3D piture showing Doubled Dies and Machine Doubling. If so I think the might help the OP. I know it helped me.

I can tell you I'm 99.9% sure it is not a Doubled Die. I see a VLDS and the first 9 looks like it took a hit. I can tell you have the "Coin Bug". It might help to watch a video they have on YouTube that shows the entire minting process. Besides being really informative it really helped me grasp the concepts on where certain errors occur and what can and cannot happen in the mint. I'll post the link to the video below. Happy Hunting!
