Just going to throw this recently acquired very common date example out there, knowing full well there'll be differences of opinion (likely major) on it. My thinking is if it were fortunate enough to grade as uncirculated, then the assessment would have to be that it's dreadfully bagmarked, and it'd be a MS60 at best. That supposes it doesn't get a "details" annotation for any one of a number of reasons. Still, for all its flaws, it does have great eye appeal, and I thought you'd all enjoy seeing it.... The toning does not look natural to me, It really appears to be artificial.

Not a chance the toning is natural - it doesn't band back to the same color the way this one does. Somebody cooked it.

At as anything, don't like it.

I was wrong, no diverging views regarding this one, but unanimity instead. I was aware when I posted that the possibility of artificial toning was in play, but didn't want to "poison the well" so to speak. At least I only paid about a $10 premium for this coin over what I might have otherwise have. Well, dipping remains an option, could hardly do more harm to it....

At, and I don't think it would get a MS grade.

Artificially toned I'm afraid. High AU Range. Those scratches may get it another details grade aside from the AT.
