Whats the norm for storing notes in binders - do you place them directly in the binder or do you leave them in sleeves then put them in the 3 pocket pages in your binder?

I put mine in sleeves then in an album. Two layers of protection is better than one.

That's what I've been thinking - to date I've been putting them directly in the binder but it makes sense to leave them in a sleeve - 1) for the double protection 2) to label the individual sleeves rather than the pocket pages which may see different notes over time. The desiccant pack is a great idea - Thanks everyone :)

The sleeve allow you to manipulate the banknote but has to be of a good material not PVC.

I have most of my notes in the plastic sleeves then they're in two "pop up" cardboard boxes that I had picked up from IKEA... A few notes are placed in the sleeves then put into 3 a three ringed binder... which will then (once I have the time and all the notes) be framed.... The rest in the S.D.B

I don't like binder albums for currency because I find that if you put too many pages in the binder they will develop a "hump" which bends every note in your collection. I use boxes and put them in high places. Also VHS boxes (like the Disney kind) work well for small notes.

Good point. I'll have to find some 1" D-ring binders. O-ring binders don't cut it for me.

Would it work to use more binders, so one doesn't get too full...I just have one or even say 4 notes in one of the 3 pockets.with no double protection...Or for double those very cheap individual sheves will work?

For long term storage, I would NOT use PVC for note album pages. I note that instead, stamp collectors use Mylar stamp flaps for their more valuable stamps.
I would think it should follow that Mylar as a material for note album pages is also available.

This is what I've decided to do - 1" binder for each series ie, 1937, 1954, 1954 DV, multis, Birds, Journeys and Polymer
