I finished my junior year of high school with quite a bang. All A's, feeling confident in all three AP tests and both IB tests. My first attempts at the ACT and SAT yielded a 31 (32 composite) and 2230, respectively. I am currently recycling everything in my binders that I don't want to keep. Now that the stressful part is over, I need to start my summer assignments, which consists of reading and annotating three books, watching some movies for my classes, doing a math packet, logging CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) hours (about 200 hours worth) for the IB (International Baccalaureate) program, and getting a head start on my extended essay arguing the main cause of the Titanic Disaster (which will actually be fun and interesting). My other summer plans: -Going to my mom's house in a different state -Bike 16 miles every day to get some exercise in my system (I've been lacking lately because of all of the schoolwork) -Edit an article to send to the Numismatist for potential publication -And probably many other things as I get to them. Duuuuude.... chill out man, grab a soda and play some Skyrim. And when you get bored with that, grab your pole and head down to the nearest fishing hole and catch yourself some trout. Then go home and cook them up in a pan with some butter. You deserve it.

Nice...what AP courses have you taken this year? Three sounds like a lot! I'm taking AP US History next year as a sophomore.

Wheatchaser140,
AP US History AP Spanish Language AP Calculus AB
They were not as overwhelming as my IB classes. APUSH was by far the most overwhelming of the three of them. Calc was fun and easy for me. Spanish I could get by without thinking too hard.
APUSH was incredibly fun and easy for me. All I can say is READ THE BOOK. Take notes if you can. John Green has an amazing series on Youtube called Crash Course US History. They are great for review and are basically essays in a video. If you ever need help, guidance, or anything of the sort in case you get overwhelmed (which is very possible), you can PM me or start a topic in the General Discussion forum. I can try to help by giving advice and tips, but use the resources available to you (book, Youtube, TEACHER).

Hey Typecoin, Good for you for taking that many classes. I've heard of Crash Course and it seems pretty helpful. Thanks for the advice!

Congrats!
As I teacher I am just as excited about the summer holidays as you are.... but I will be honest it sounds like you had a whole lot more work than I did in the last few weeks..
Keep up the good effort on your studies.. it sounds like you have a real passion for knowledge... even just hearing that from a student gives me the motivation to do MY best for the students.
Enjoy the summer... and if you get that article published make sure you let us all know on here... I personally would like to read it.

Got my scores (finally)!
IB Chemistry SL: 6/7 IB Mathematics SL: 6/7 AP Calculus AB: 5/5 AP Spanish Language: 4/5 (this is notorious for being the hardest AP test) AP US History: 5/5
On a side note, I just visited Ohio State University today. I liked what I saw, but I won't be diehard set on it, although it is a very real choice for the future.

Well done. What are you planning on studying in college? These days it seems most important to pick a school that has the internship program that you want ....

I'm planning on studying Aerospace Engineering. Where? I don't know. I know OSU has a decent internship program with NASA and Boeing nearby. Georgia Tech is another possibility. It is near Gulfstream headquarters in Savannah, Georgia, a comoany in which my Dad's friend's family works for. This connection can possibly open up possibilities for me.

It seems like you've given it a lot of thought.
I grew-up during the 1960's and a lot of us wanted to go work at NASA...but girls didn't have a chance back then.
Anyway, engineering is a good field. Aerospace engineering has got to be fascinating.
