I need some help determining what is going on with this coin. On Lincoln's face, I can clearly see an extra outline of another face. I can see two foreheads, two noses, two lips, two chins, and possibly two necks. In addition, "Liberty" seems to have thicker lettering than I've noticed on other coins, especially letters "L" and "B" seem odd to me. Its a little hard for me to tell what this is, as it doesn't look like Machine Doubling to me, but the coin has definitely seen a better day, so I'm hoping someone with more expertise would help me out! I do believe this is a doubled die. Sorry in advance, my camera isn't the best, so the pictures dont do it justice, but it is not a trick of the light. Thanks guys!

It is not doubled. If the bust is doubled on the outside edge, it is almost always machine damaged. But I'm not seeing the same thing on the other devices. So it might be ejection damage on your coin?

If the entire head was doubled? Would that be a possible doubled die? Just curious! And ya, that could be! I'm not too sure as to the exact cause, because the doubling that is present is fairly pronounced, even after all this wear. And all of the other examples I have of MD are not as noticeable!

The head is normal sized. The outline you mentioned is damaged and is reduced in size. No it is machine damaged.
