This one does belong to me, I am considering cracking it and sending it in. Thoughts on grade? It is a bit thick skinned, I seriously considered a light dip, but I think not this time. The skin gives it personality, but at the same time seems to be hiding a bit of detail. If you tilt it just right in hand, the breastfeathers do jump out a bit, though not as much as I would like. REALLY like this!
Agree with you, don't dip. Looks like the cartwheel is still there. Is this seen in hand?

I would say 64, aside from a few scratches and marks it's really nice. Chance at 65.

Good cartwheel, but somewhat muted by the skin. Better in hand than in the pics, what appear to be marks on the high forehead are not there at all. The marks at the rear of the neck are indeed present, but difficult to see without 10X eyewear. The marks on the eagles breast are about all you can see without aid. As usual, any imperfections scream at the camera. The obverse and the hair is well struck, the reverse is just a bit soft.

That's a beautiful coin! I would say MS-64, but like they said above there is a good chance it could 65!

MS64 No problem in an old small ANACS holder. It's definitely coming out, I am looking for a "65". Not 100% sure I will get it, I will keep you guys posted.

I think you definitely receive the 65. The breast hit holds it from higher and probably accounts for the original technical 64 grade... but that's a 65 all day long.

Last thing that I admitted dipping was a 35-S that I thought was going to be a nograde for all sorts of reasons. It just didn't look right. Here is the thread and all the photos if you scroll down a bit: https://goccf.com/t/165558&whichpage=2 It came back as a 63 no problem. I was amazed. The dip helped that poor miserable coin no question. And I dipped it HARD. This one does not need it in my opinion. The toning, though the skin is thick, gives it personality and originality. I don't have quite enough material to send in just yet, it might be a couple weeks before I can get it sent off, but this one is definitely coming out of the holder and going in to PCGS.

Well bummer! Came back 64. I was 98% sure I would get a 65. Rats! As Charlie Brown would say. There is a big jump between 64 and 65 on this piece. I wounder if I should resubmit. I just looks like a 65 . . . Much better than some of the other 65s I have. Hmmmmm I might reconsider that dip as well . . . . Thanks to everyone who played along!
