Hi there, I've been a long time lurker, and first time poster. I came across this Gold Ducat http://eunumismatics.com/i/category...GC-AU58.html and its listed for 65000! probably most expensive I've ever seen. Show me some incredible coins worth thousands! This gets me excited about my hobby!

I just held an 1870-CC $20 NGC XF45 at the Long Beach Coin show.

$295,000

They had the King of Siam 1804 $1 too.
Didn't ask price.

It's always fun to search ebay by "Highest Price". Today's top billing is this five dollar gold piece for one million dollars. It's from the famous Garrett Collection.

Best I recall holding was an UNC 1895 Morgan.
It was slabbed but I don't remember the grade.
And, no, it wasn't mine.

Whitman Red Book, pages 431 and up list the top 250 coins by price. Top of page is a $10,016,875
They all go down from there. Couldn't find any of mine on those pages though.
Your question was a coin seen though and those listed in that book are not usually seen. Actually most coins of any value are seldom seen. At most coin shows even many dealers are a bit worried about showcasing excessively valuable coins. Way to many coin robberies. I've never really thought about what the most valuable coin I've ever seen. I usually don't pay attention to things I just can't have.
Interesting thought though would be exactly what would you do is someone just gave you a coin worth millions? Where would you put it? Who could or would you tell you have it?

The cheapest among them is probably a $150K coin, and two are 7-figure pieces.

I saw that 1787 Doubloon with EB on the wing at an ANA Money Show in Kansas City back in 2005. I kept looking over at it while looking at the display next to it.

You must really get around and have a strong financial backing, SmallEagle. That's impressive.

I've seen the $10 million 1794 dollar before; I've seen the 1834 King of Siam proof set with an 1804 dollar a $10 million dollar set; and I've held the finest-known 1913 Liberty nickel, a $4 million coin, which was held in a capsule of bullet-proof glass surrounded by four armed security guards, and was presented alongside the other four nickels, the first time in history since Col. Green owned them that the five were in the same place together.
