Excellent. Typical planchet and strike issues for the Ryder 6. I like it a lot! Now, get it out of that awful plastic prison!

I am liking it very much as well and can well understand your joy in having this coin in your collection. The landscape type is one of my favorite US colonial types, along with the Fugios. I like the way the sun peeks over the Vermont hills.

A walking stick and a praying mantis are not the same thing.

Thanks:) I will more than likely break it out sometime soon but will leave it slabbed for short while. I want to show it to local coin club members and some others. I trust most people to handle most coins without incident but I will be more comfortable with this one being handled during show and tell while its in the holder. I also want to see peoples reaction to the ACACS grade. Its fun because most people are all over the map with colonials. And then there's the are sure its real crowd? Also, I don't have a huge aversion to slabs. I know its sacrilege to say that, but its true. I think a slab acts as frame for the coin to set in and add a quality to the coins presentation. At the same time I will have no qualms about busting this coin out when its time and I can bust plastic anytime I want.

Cipster, I will give it a big CCF coin hug when I bust it out:D

Thanks. I don't think the vergis is active. I am guessing that acetone has already been used. I will have to think on using the verdicare. I kinda like the coin as is and think most colonial collectors understand that a bit of grime isn't that big a deal.

I've been to Rupert, Vermont in search of Reuben Harmon's original mint location. Incredibly beautiful area. I can see why he selected that landscape design for his coinage.

I agree with the 12 grade. VF+ as some mentioned is really a "high grade" with Vermonts and this coin is far from that level.

IMHO, the grade on this ANACS Vermontensium is correct:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1786-Vermon...em2ed3546974

I still say VF+ on the OP's specimen ...
