No way to tell the date, but has jBuck gone from counterstamping Ikes to cents? I guess then he would have to be jCent.

There should be enough here to identify by die variety...

Now I know this is not one of the peanut gallery comments, there just might be enough detail on the reverse to tell, but not from my early copper amateur attempts so far! If anyone can, philadelphian can figure it out. I've got it narrowed down to between 120A and 269.

Yeah I think with a little bit of work I think it could be determined. I see a few features that could be used to narrow down the possible varieties to a small number pretty quickly.

120a has the reverse of 1796, which this is not.

On 269's reverse, a leaf tip ends just before the middle point of the M. On this coin, it passes the middle.
Edit: Duh. Didn't see the clowny face!

It does, actually. Leaf tips just past the middle of the M, and the base of the T in UNITED, and especially, a gap between the zeroes in the fraction that's so wide that a line drawn down from the one misses the middle zero to the right. And on the obverse, a distinct leftward tilt of the I in LIBERTY, so the right tip of the bottom serif is a little higher than the left one on the B. I'll propose 1802 S-227. Can a glare shot reveal any clash marks from Liberty's chin to her chest?
