Hello People,

In my collection I've got this Roman coin. Which is possibly hardly cleaned in the past. I think it is an AS but from which emperor (caracella?) and the mintplace etcetera. I don't know.

Hope someone could of help me to figure this one out.

Appears to be a sestertius of Gordian III, but by it's overall appearance with numerous casting bubbles and mushy details IMO it's not real.

oh, What a shame. SO even bad looking coins can be fakes. Though this would of been maybe 2 dollars worth because off the bad looking if it was real.

Check the edges of the coin to see if all those file marks are trying to cover up a seam from the casting process.

Size and weight would help here. It does look a bit odd but It may be the way it has had the gold tone coating removed. A pic of the edge would help too. Without those I am going to say repro for visitors market.
