I was wondering from the pics what do you think i`m likely to have..i know very little about these cents and was hoping to get a leg up before the coin arrives and then with any luck provide a much better image regards

it is too hard to tell with these pics but the 2nd picture looks like a repunched "O" in one pg 274 of charlton 2011 catalog but the 9 doesn't look to be over 8 which is needed for this variety but again need a better picture

This is a narrow 9. The reverse is Dr. Haxby J.
From the photos provided I can offer no further information.
Research this coin on Dr. Haxby's Vickycent site.

Doctor Haxby basically groups the reverses according to the vine break to leaf 7. Groups J and P have a wide break, Group E shews a narrow break, and Groups F and G medium breaks. Other variations exist. Concerning Groups J & P, concern is next given to the stem of leaf 10. Group P shews no stem, whereas Group J has a stem. All this information is provided on the site. If no telltale re-punched letters or die-cracks are present, access the reverse section of the site and scroll down all the varieties under Reverse J. Photos of the various stem configuration to leaf 9 are listed. Compare the stem of leaf 9 on your coin and you should find a match. Then click-on the threads provided to further confirm and verify. The site becomes easy once you get the hang of it.

I know it's an old post but do you have a better photo. Looks like a slight line in the 9 that might identify this coin as inverted 9.
