Thank you for the welcome OcalaFlorida. It is an interesting coin though. If it is a DDO it will be a unique meaning $$$ right?

could we have close ups of the mint mark and the top of the first 1 please? if the mint mark has no doubling than that's a point in favor of it being a doubled die since the mint mark was added after hubbing and if it was md there would probably be md on the mint mark too. I ask to see more pics of the first 1 because I think I see what could be notch doubling which is a key key characteristic of a DDO or DDR. good luck boy wheres coop when you need him?

I took the best photos I can here. Can you see that the mint mark has no doubling? The coin is worn to the point it makes it tough LOL, but this is a fun coin for sure to determine if its the DDO or not. Now Just tell me its a Double Die and WE ALL have a nice 4th July LOL

We've learned this from Coop, if the MM is doubled in the same direction as the date (which it is here), it is Machine Doubling except in a very few cases (1995-D 1DO-003 is the one he used to illustrate the point). IMHO this is Machine Doubling with 95 years of circulation wear. I wish it was a true DD and I hope I'm wrong, sorry.

Older coins are tough on rookies, but leaning more towards MD with currents pics. These old eyes need more evidence. Full obverse and reverse pics may help, may not. I just like looking at old LWC. Thanks, Doug.

It is different that is for sure, but I don't think it is a DD. I am leaning towards Die Deterioration, but that usually happens to the other side of the outer digits. It does not seem like the MM is doubled to me, but it is really hard to tell with the lighting and focus of the camera. Without better pictures it will really be hard to confirm or deny it is a DDO. I can kind of see some spread in "In god We trust" but it could be an effect of the deterioration. Does the 1 & 8 exhibit the same doubling and just more worn away? Can you post photos of the entire obv and rev?

Hello all and thanks for the views and out put opinions. I thought this would get a bit of a buzz since there is not one found yet. Please see the pictures and respond. The MM has no doubling and the word TRUST is thick with Notching on the S and T. The liberty is hard to determine because of wear but it appears thick too. The Curve on the 9 is actually raised and evidence of Notching, not flattened like MD would do or even Die Deterioration would cause, the doubling on the coin is round and raised. Look in the word GOD and you'll see extra O inside and same on the D and lightly inside the G and thick on the bottom curve as well. I look forward to more opinions. Thanks again Edward (via Doubledieman)

For some reason some of the dies used in the teens show the opposite wear direction that we normally see on the other years. The Die Deterioration is usually on the right side of the date. But during the teens it is on the upper left side. I've seen examples from several years that show the same thing in that direction on different years in the teens. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...ATION_02.jpghttps://www.coincommunity.com/forum...wear_1_1.jpghttps://www.coincommunity.com/forum...eriation.jpgAt first I wondered it if was hub wear, but a couple of others mentioned it was not the case. So it is die wear/deterioration as the rest of the coins that show this show wear in other areas. Coins that are from earlier die states do not show this, show it is not a hub issue. George is also correct with the die wear in the same direction on the mint mark and the date, it is a die issue.

Hello all, I posted it on ebay just now and stated your opinions and and mine. I listed it for only $19.95. to me as a regular strike has been selling for $5/ $10 / $20 so, this is a great specimen of this kind anyway to have. Thanks CCF
