Just wondering what reverse lettering is heard the term earlier but forgot to ask

I think it means incuse lettering.

That or just the letters on the reverse of the coin. I refer to the "reverse lettering" all the time, meaning exactly that, letters or the legend on the reverse side of the coin.

Incuse lettering could also be interpreted depending on the coin and how it is used in the wording.

It can also refer to lettering that has been forced into another coin as in a "squeeze job". the lettering is both incuse and a mirror image of what it should be.

It meant something more like Conder's definition when I was in the sign industry.
