Well this was in a small envelope in my uncle's bank and I did not see it at first... It looks like a father (Lee) gave this as a neckless to his daughter (Tina) on her 5th birthday. On the Obverse it says "To Tina from her father on her 5th birthday" on the reverse above IGWT it says "Lee". Next to the BIG HOLE, I believe I can see half an "S" for the mint mark. Is there any value in this other then melt?

I am sure they were thinking it would make a good necklace and they probably got the coin in trade for 10 dimes at the time.
I think it's still worth a little more than melt given the details are excellent and it's a rarer date/mint.

It HAD sentimental value to somebody, at some time.
There are people that collect holed coins. It has value above silver because of that.

Mind putting the ebay link here (if it's allowed). Even if I don't buy it I'd still like to follow it.

Ouch, this one is harsh. Holed AND graffiti. Is there a person who repairs coins like this? I mean, the value's been killed and I'd love to see coins like this with large holes plugged/ details re-engraved. Just for the looks of it.

Thanks, I'll tell a few of the people I buy from and describe the condition and see if they'd like to bid as well.
Hope you get a good sale out of it.
Just wondering, as I didn't see anything about it in the description, are you keeping it "local pickup" only, does the winner have to message you about shipping, or will you be adding more shipping options?

Yeah, there are guys that can fix holes and remove graffiti and scratches from coins. I had a 93-S dollar fixed once that had some scratches on it (it was found in a rut on a dirt road in California a long time ago). It can get expensive quick. Ethical ones won't touch dates or mint marks, either. Due to the processes involved you will lose the mint luster. If it were mine, I'd leave it alone or sell it as is. It isn't rare enough to get fixed in my opinion.
