I remember seeing coins laying around my grandfathers house when I was a kid. Lots of Mercury dimes, Indian Head cents, SLQ's, & Buffalo nickels. If I only knew then what I know now.

He probably just got change from a merchant for a recent transaction. The merchant passed him a couple of quarters from a mint roll he just picked up at the bank dated 1916. Had he put them securely away with the instructions not to be opened until 2016, you'd have between $30K and $75K potentially waiting for you.
