I received a 1941 Walking Liberty half dollar I purchased from a seller, as I was looking for the mint stamp on the left side, using my jewelers loupe I noticed a W stamped on the right side, its no bigger than a regular mint stamp but its not raised, any Ideas what it may or may not mean, if it were a metal stamp it had to be a tiny one and seems to me it would break, but things can be done now that will amaze you.

Yes, it's W for Weinman, the designer of the Walking Liberty half dollar.
On Mercury dimes (which Weinman also designed), you can see the designer's monogram--which is a W with a small A under the W--on the left obverse field.

Certain dates can be found missing that W on the reverse, and those are worth good money in higher grades. :)
