I think it was post-mint damage, PMD.

EDIT - A little more detail: the coin appears to have been formed fully by the dies. That is the last time the coin would have been in a press at the mint. The damage that is seen appears to have been caused after it left the mint.

I don't know what press damaged it, but this doesn't look like anything that can happen at the mint.

I've seen a lot of newer rolls with similar damage on the end coin on the out side face. Not sure why both sides would be damaged but I agree PMD.

PSD Post Strike Damage highly likely PMD Post Mint Damage as it not to likely they did this at the mint

this one does not look like typical Coin Wrapping Machine circular scratch it looks more like a bored individual or maybe it was use to place under a table or chair leg to level it out

When coins are put in rolls they get damaged all the time. This is not an error just a damaged cent. Instead of wasting your money on sending it to ANACS buy a few error coins and study them for it seems you have no clue.
