Hello folks. Like most of you, I've bought stuff online loads of times. Only recently have I began purchasing coins that I haven't been able to locate locally. That being said... I find myself checking tracking at work, subscribed to sms notifications to be pushed to my phone, and today (knowing one is in town ) I'm peeking through the front window every time the dogs bark anxiously awaiting the delivery man like he's Santa Claus! I'm not ashamed to admit it, it's kind of a thrill
Does anyone else get this anxious when they are waiting for coins?

A different twist,
"By the way honey I just bought some new coins."
"Oh really , how much did it cost "US" this time?"
"Not much just, (fill in the blank)"
"There goes the budget once again!" Her
"Yes Dear, can I help you make supper tonight?"
Upon the day they arrive.
"Honey look at these their fantastic!"
"They look nice." "By the way you still have to, (fill in the blank)." "Yes Dear."
I love my wife. and my coins.
edit: CCF members who we have met at the shows know we are a team.

I did not have a USPS account until I started buying coins online, and then I signed up for it solely so I could do the SMS alerts.

So yes, I understand. lol

I know the feeling when I was waiting for my Dansco 7165. I rarely buy coins online, my LCS is cheaper, I can look at the coins in hand, and only a few minutes away!

Which is why I love coin shows. I have some about 4 times a Month within 15 miles. No guessing, no waiting, no lost in mail, no wrong coin, no postage, insurances, pay pal, etc. Just coins.

When I was a kid I used to do that with the Littleton coins that came in the mail on approval. I also did that with my subscription to Coin World that came once a week.

Don't feel bad, our mail carrier doesn't even bother with a ring!
He knows we have dogs , so to his credit he just waits for the door to open.

My mail carrier doesn't even ATTEMPT a knock! We live in an MDU (multiple dwelling unit, apt, condo, townhome, etc..), so when I get packages requiring signature confirmation, he is already filling out the "sorry we missed you" little brown form at the MAIN mail box....so, my only hope is to catch him when the delivery status shows "out for delivery" and then stalk him like a fox until he backs the mail truck up to the main community mail box.

Guilty as charged here

Anxious? Never.

Why I bought a coin this morning and have only checked three times whether the seller has answered the question I asked or marked it as shipped. Which would be clever as there's no post collection on a Saturday afternoon here in the UK!

And no, I have never tried to chase the postman because I've found that blooming 'While You Were Out' card and you have to leave it four hours before you can expect it to make it back to the delivery office.

Well, maybe once or twice ..

No coin shops around here and I've never been to a coin show. All my collecting has been by catalogues or internet. You'd have thought after 10 years I'd have become more relaxed about seeing my new purchases, but nope!

But then again, there are my orders from the Mint.

Even if the tracking says the coin hasn't arrived yet, I make a habit of checking the mail frequently. I'm pretty impatient. One of my big Purchases arrived yesterday after being delayed nearly a week, I messaged the seller 3 times in that time... The wait kills me but it's part of the fun
