The rims look awful. The single heavy reverse bag mark is a nice touch though!

All this guy does is sell Morgans, so you'd think he'd be able to spot an obvious phony. I'd also remark that this would surely be one of the least profitable issues in the series to counterfeit.

If a fake, it's a good one. Odd that he mentions you'll get $10 back on purchase. That makes no CENTS to me.

Ok what makes it fake? Just curious.

Without seeing it in hand I don't know whether it's bad or not.
I've seen an awful lot of "P" mint dollars from this era (1885 to 1889) that are down right ugly and poorly struck.

If not for the obverse denticles I would say this is just over-dipped. The surfaces are not rough and porous like chinese counterfeits, just dull and lifless.

I can see that Dave just couldn't write it off as fake. With these pictures.

Hard to tell, but why take a chance, common date Morgans are not expensive in TPG holders.

I just scrolled through the rest of the listings and I'll say the quality of the photos are all over the map. One listing looks like the photos were taken with a DSLR and the next looks like it was taken with a security camera from across the room and cropped.

The obverse denticles and the lumpy uneven lower wings near the eagles head make me suspicious. Might be bad pics or bad strike. I'd stay away.

the angle of the camera and the lighting are what is weird. I say it's real, not in very good shape, & not worth buying

I'm sticking with mailman in that I think it is real too and just a coin not worth my time and money.
