It's been a long time since I posted in these forums. I had a previous account, but it's been too long since my last post to remember my previous username and my email was also old.

Anyway, I have found myself with a lot of spare time due to shoulder surgery, so I thought of taking up coin roll hunting. I've been pleasantly surprised by a few finds in about half a dozen rolls. Finds so far include:

1957 D Wheat penny

One another Wheat penny but I don't remember where I put it.

(3) 2009 D Lincoln commeratives all different varieties. Circulated but in decent condition.

I just rolled up this batch of what I didn't take and I'll be giving it back to the bank at some point. A different location but same bank (I'm friends with all of the employees at both locations)

Hopefully they will take the rolls back. I gave each roll a light mark from a pencil to let me know that if I come across it again that I've already searched it. Nothing too noticeable.

Any tips for roll hunting? What should I be looking for? I know of the 1955 double die penny, the copper 1943 cent and likewise 1944 steel cent and the VBD pennies.

I search for wheats, and if I encounter any reddish old Memorials I'll save those too. I'll also save any oddities, such as counterstamps, somewhat mis-aligned dies, and mintmarks that appear to be not properly "centered" under the date.

I also will save any non-US coins that I find. Most of non-US coins are Canadian, but once in a great while I'll see one from Barbados or some other place.

I've failed to ask my bank about any of the half rolls. Once they said an old guy left an entire roll of collecter grade Kennedy halves but someone else took them. That was last year. I really haven't asked since then. I may start those once I have a little more money. Dime roll revealed nothing.

I keep all the wheats what few I find, As for the 1981 and earlier copper memorials I save those and sometimes can sell them at 2x face value at my coin clubs

I buy up the bank's coin in even amounts. Lets say, $500 or $1,000 in customer rolled dimes, or $1,000 in quarters, etc, so that when I return them to a different bank, they are shipped out, and I don't get the same coins back (at least not right away)...It may take the bank several weeks to accumlate this much coin, but I have several banks that hold it for me.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

Just got another roll, and I'm having to roll the others again. Nothing special, only a full roll of 2013 D cents. I don't think any are proof or special.
