I saw this 1959 Lincoln and the holder looks similar to the ones I used to see at Woolworth stores back in the 1970s when they had a little rotating coin display stand in some of their stores. Does anyone else remember these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-1C-RD-...p=true&rt=ncPaul Bulgerin

I've seen coins in those holders before, I got a few in a collection I bought, if I recall, it was basically a 2x2 made of paper. not cardboard...

I enjoyed checking out the holder, I wasn't minted until '83 myself.

I bit off topic....but how did this eBayer get the system to agree to a $6.00 ship fee? Anytime I have listed coinage on there it force feeds me to charge less than $3.00 shipping?

I saw these in a Ben Franklin in the late 60's early 70's.

Quote: Anytime I have listed coinage on there it force feeds me to charge less than $3.00 shipping? You just have to create a shipping preference for higher. You have to be able to charge more than 3 bucks. No flat rate shipping is less than 5. Same for other special shipping.

I remember those from my childhood, I thought it my local store only. Guess it was nationwide with the rotating coin displays.

Wow, that brings back memories. Amazing that a retailer would consider selling coins and supplies, but that was a different age. Remember shopping for coins there and them my mom and I would eat in their in store cafeteria.

LOL! As a kid, Woolworth's, J.J. Newberry's and Kay Bee Hobby were prime destinations for coin hunting!

We would refer to Woolworths as the "five and dime" although in the late 60s, a nickel didn't buy all that much.
