We bought a State Quarter folder last week, and basically filled it in one day out of our quarter jar, except for Florida. We have the District of Columbia quarter, but none of the other 5 Territories. Are these scarce in circulation? Ed

I rarely see the territory quarters in circulation. I don't know if the mintage numbers were maybe lower?

Like Jbuck, I don't see the territorials (or ATBs) as often as I see the states quarters, so yes, they're harder to find.

They are common change, here in Idaho right now. I don't do quarters, but iffin I did, I'd have no prob w/completing the Denvers.

Territories and 2010 - 2012 ATB's did have mostly lower mintages. In fact the first three 2012 ATB's were barely over 20 million from each mint; lowest figures for a circulation quarter since the 1950's! I keep them all.

I started an ATB folder a while back and I found the 2013's no problem. But I can't seem to get any 2010-2012 in change. I might buy them, too.

I have been buying the circulating ATB Quarter set from the mint every year. It is only $5.95 for all ten quarters, and I just add it to whatever else I am ordering to combine shipping. Four years in and I am pleased. Might not be the same quality as those in the uncirculated mint set, but they are just as good (if not better) than what I would pull out of change. I am happy with them.

Also the US Mint still has 2010 and 2011 America the Beautiful Circulating Coin Sets available. The 2010 and 2011 are $9.95 each and the 2013 is only $5.95

You are right. Looking back at my records, it was $9.95 the first two years. Still a decent deal, consider how difficult they are for me to acquire via circulation.

Thanks for the replies. I have seen some ATBs in circulation. Maybe we should get a folder for them. Will hold out for a while on the 5 missing "territories" quarters, but might eventually have to cave and visit ebay.

If you're willing to do a box of quarters, you might fill some holes that way. That's how I got most of my 2010 quarters.

At the theater I manage, all prices are rounded to the nearest quarter. That being said we only order quarters from Brinks & I've noticed (like others) territories are less common... although I wouldn't go sa far as to call them scarce. I see a ton of American Somoa's in particular.

So far I've found 4 territory quarters in circulation in the past five years.
