Over the years I have accumulated a hoard of Ike dollars, that need to go. I have called 4 different coin shops in my area, and as I thought, no one wanted them....even at face. If there is anyone in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area that would like (633) Ike dollars, PM me and we can arrange to meet in the near future. Otherwise these coins will have to go back to the bank. Sorry JBuck.......

Are they in OK shape or all average circulated? You might be able to sell them as date or mint runs on ebay at 2-3x face in sets if they are in decent shape. Or maybe you could sell them like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Coin-Lo...em1c43ca96edAnd put them in a flat rate box for shipping.

If they are circulated you could try to sell them on ebay adding on the title the words junk drawer (no disrespect). They are many buyers looking for bargains using those words on their searches.

not the bank! Just spend them if you must get rid of them to allow people a chance to find them. If they go to the bank the odds are that they will get sent somewhere to be lost to time and never seen again. IF the most you are hoping to get is face, then spending is the best option. If you have a few that are worth something, then try to sell them somewhere later and spend the lesser quality ones because odds are, most people today working a cash register have never even seen one.

I am in need of Ikes for my collection, unfortunately, it is probably only a few of them and it wouldn't be worth it for you. PM if under 10 is something you are willing to do.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. As for selling on ebay, it really wouldn't be worth the time, after fees and shipping. Most are in average circulation, with a couple maybe being MS60, but I wouldn't count on it. I have picked these up at face while hunting halves and cents. I just see these as money sitting around, when I could buy other coins and currency that I want. I'll get back to those that sent PM's. In the meantime, I'll wait and see if anyone responds from the immediate area

Just buy groceries and gas with them. They will be gone in no time. $100 in $1 isn't any worse than a kid buying a pack of gum with pennies.

I like the spending idea. It is tough to find them anywhere in public.

I really do find it odd your local coin shop won't even pay face for them. Would they really turn down your Ikes if you were buying something from their shop? Face is face

Take them to the bank that has your mortgage, and pay with them.
