Looked around a bit on this one. The Denver and San Francisco mint reverses were the same design on this year.

On bkh2015's coin the design looks different, but considering the location the devices, you can see they were thinned. Not from die wear, but from the die's outer surface (The fields) were polished down. When the die surface is removed to remove a die gouge/dent, the devices get thinner looking. I've seen this on a few dies before. But that is what I see. I wanted to make sure I knew more before have the owner throw it back into circulation. (But I would still save it.)
Here is a 1968 cent where the field was removed so much to cover clashes that the 1 is almost missing:
Note the overall size was reduced of that digit because the depth was removed from the top of the die.
Here is an example where the outside edge field was reduced and reduced the size of the devices, just in that area. Not on the whole die.


Note that even on these devices, the ones closest to the rim were affected the most.
