Has anyone used a 1st generation Lytro camera for coin photography? I just bought one but I am having problems getting the pictures I wanted.

Any tips are appreciated.

Never heard of the lytro tilI saw this question. I did some internet searching....I still need to get my head around how the camera works but my initial impression is the camera needs as much attention to lighting as any other and that it may actually be harder to take coin photos with it. It looks like a great toy....you focus the pictures on your computer screen after taking the photo! I think it works best for making 3 d images...... the big issue I have is the area of small lenses just in front of the sensor. I wonder if those lenses would work against you with coin photography by diminishing the resolution?

Did some checking The lens array in front of the small sensor does produce softer shots that may be your problem
