With free shipping seemed like a prety good deal. Not sure what the MPD is in this case. I know it stands for misplaced date, but not sure how the date is misplaced on this one.

PCGS lists the '1 in neck' and the 'MPD FS-401 S-1 (FS-011.5)' as a separate varieties

The misplaced "1" is plainly visible in the auction images, using the mouseover blowup. That's rather nicely bought for the price of a case of beer.

Yes I can see the 1 which is plainly visible. My question is about when you go to the PCGS pricelist and hit the dropdown under the 1897, it shows 2 (the last 2 of 3 on the list) different varieties with 1 in the neck. The $ values for the various grades on both of them are about the same. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but PCGS definitely describes 2 different varieties with the 1 in the neck.

That's odd. The Registry only has a place for one variety.
