I spend a lot of time cruising through ebay listings looking for something interesting. (I'm sure no one else does that.) Last week I won an auction for two nice Indian Head cents. The final price was $20.50. Here is the auction photo. One coin was described as an AU and the other EF. I was more than thrilled today when they arrived and this is what I found myself holding in my hand. I've been a CCF member for about eight months now and sure enjoy having a forum where I can share and discuss coins with others who love them as much as I do. Paul Bulgerin

Wow, great score! You've got to love those ebay sellers who obviously haven't checked out the coin photography forum on CCF.

I like the look of the scans. I don't do cents much, but if I had seen those, I probably would have threw like, a $25 bid at them. More with a return policy. They're obviously not XF.
Nice pick!

This is the first and probably last time I will ever hear of someone buying a coin off ebay that looked even better than the pictures instead of worse. Take a screenshot folks, this is a special moment! Nice score Paul!

Did anyone else think he was going to say he found an old hoard of 200 pennies?

I'm a metal detectorist, too, and would probably trade most of my collection to find a hoard of 200 Indian Heads. In three year of detecting I've found a grand total of one Indian, an 1899, by the river near my house.

I was expecting to see a bucket of pennies or a picture of coins scattered over some table, but hey, they were better than the pic showed it to be.

I have a bunch that I've dug, you can rebury them and redig them up

That is what I thought...$20 face value of IHC would have been a sweet haul. The two IHC in the OP are no slouch either.
