I would say, with the small folds on the corners it would grade AU

An edge bump or corner fold does not grade as UN. These bills would grade as AU.

That's too bad then. I have the notes consecutive ending from 00 to 09, will it still carry a premium/collectable since they're no longer UNC?

Don't write off these bills yet. Have someone look at them. There are three levels of UNC. 1.Uncirculated, 2.(Choice) CH UNC, and finally 3.(Gem) GM UNC. The lowest level of unc would allow for an edge bump or small corner fold. The corner fold may drop it to AU depending on the severity of it. Get a hold of a Charlton guide a have a look at the grading standards for UNC.

It could not be considered UNC because it has edge bumps on all 4 corners. This constitutes 4 demerit points which brings it down to AU.

Jimmy, you are correct if these corners are from the same bill. Slurexe, are all the four corners of the other bills the same?

Three demerits for UNC. One for Choice UNC. and zero for a Gem Unc.

According to Charlton, a UNC bill can have up to 3 demerit points. This includes everything, not just corner bumps or folds. FYI, the book price of a UNC bill with that 3 letter prefix is $7.00. ( There were 310 million printed) Hope this helps

While I'm okay with spending the rest, I would hate to break up these 10 consecutive notes. Would they still bring a premium at AU?

They might bring a bit of a premium, depending on buyer. Consecutive notes in the newer series are not uncommon. At the end of a series, dealers and individuals would buy unopened packs of 100 consecutive numbers and now sell them as UNC consecutive numbered bills at a small premium.

even with 10, double face value on a $2 note = pretty much zero net gain when you figure fees and effort.
put them away for another 30 years and let someone else have the joy of discovery.

Or spend them, at the butcher, and have the joy of steak...
