Enough facial chatter that I can't see it getting above MS63.

63. Too much chatter on the obverse, along with a scrape in front of Liberty's eye, would keep it from grading higher.

One side very nice, one side kinda sucky. I see a lot of GSA's that look this way.

WAY too much "noise" on the obverse.
I'd be surprised if it went above MS-62.

Your first two images are an excellent illustration of how minor variances in digital imaging can affect the appearance of a coin, and further how one can so easily undergrade based on that fact. This one's a slam dunk at 63 if you look at the second image, 61 if you look at the first. VAM-3A, I think - you should see letter transfer on the obverse.

I'm still pretty new to VAMing SsuperDdave, but what about the die scratch in the eagles mouth and the crack on the wing? I thought that would be enough to call it a VAM 5A.

I do see the clash marks you are referring to though

Adam, I'm not home at the moment but when I get back I'll re-research and offer a specific answer to your question. 1883-CC is a kinda tough year because many neat VAM features - the date dash, die lines - are common to more than one variety and individual dies appear on more than one VAM. 4 & 8 share an obverse, for instance. So, I'm prepared to be wrong in my initial opinion.
