to CCF. That is called a " Dryer Coin" not an error. It happens when a coin gets stuck in the fins of a commercial clothes dryer.

Just curious, because the diameter of the coin looks normal.. yet there appears to be metal moved into the devices. I get that the mushy look seems like a Dryer Coin but what's with that inner ring separated into the date and moto?

I'm not sold it's just a Dryer Coin, though it may also be part of what happened. I am a novice though and fully prepared to be corrected.

I don't see how a dryer could have caused all that. Just how would a dryer be able to move and/or add a second ringing that looks like a second rim?

I agree. It depends whether or not the inner 'rim' is raised or incused. If it's incused it's probably a case of another coin being smashed into it, if it's raised,
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved
