Silver drop has forced them to sell at cost but it's still a bit costly considering silver is at $17.6/oz at the moment. You might be doing better buying generic rounds at spot or junk silver.

Generic silver rounds arent much cheaper than those ASE's and some places that sell generic rounds charge for shipping. At $20.70 a piece thise ASE's are a good deal. If I hadnt already exceeded my monthly bubget, I would be a buyer.

Coins are a horrible investment.
Buy 'em if you like 'em, and only if you like 'em.

I can't figure it out. With the spot price hovering around 4 yr. lows, they had to have sold those ASE's at a loss after their operating expenses, shipping and transaction fees are factored into it. No?

Not necessarily, Buffalow.

We do not know what they buy at, but you can be sure it is below spot, we do not know when they bought them either.

Spot is under $18 last I looked so if they bought at spot less $2 and are selling at spot plus $2+. No one need worry about their profits. They know what they are doing.

My guess is that they suspect the prices will drop even farther and are taking their losses now. That's the only logic I can think of that works in my head.

Yeah, geez, over 300k ASE's total! However, that's less than 1% of the total mintage and APMEX is one of the biggest silver dealers. It's hard to fathom so many of these coins out there.

But where would they have bought that many 2014 ASE's at $2 below spot? They are one of the major distributors of ASE's from the mint and they have to pay them spot +$2.
