I have read a couple post lately asking about Silver Eagles.
I think most of the questions have been answered, but I thought I would post some of mine.

I started buying the proof eagles from the mint in 1986.

Couple years ago I bought a Dansco date album, one for each year.

After the burnished coins started in 2006 I started picking them up.

I tried to order the 1995 set, but it was sold out. I did get the 2006 20th set, the 2011 25th set, the 2012 SF set and the 2013 West point set.

There 29 bullion coins (1986 - 2014)
28 regular proof (1986 - 2008 and 2010 - 2014)
Burnish - 2006,2007, 2008, 2011,2012,2013 and 2014.(7 coins
)
Special sets
1995 10th Anniversary set (I don't have yet,
the 95 set had one silver eagle 1995 W)
2006 20th Anniversary set, (3 coins)
2011 25th Anniversary set, (5 coins)
2012 San Francisco set (2 coins)
and 2013 West Point set. (2 coins)
There is also the 2008 reverse of 2007 burnish ASE.

If I did not forget or missed any then I have the
total at 78 coins. (Some are duplicate in the special sets)

Some like to collect the slabbed labels, First strike, early release and First release.

Almost complete I would say and you have a really nice collection. However some would say not having them all slabbed it's not complete. Myself I don't believe that but what are you feelings about that. I feel that if thats what you want to collect and thats what pleases you then so be it. Thats what makes the hobby what it is.....yes

I thought that I had a complete set but it is incomplete. Don't have a complete set of proof series coins. Going to have to get busy to match your collection. Plus I don't have any graded ASE.

Very nice and I am jealous of your holdings.

I don't mind slabs, but don't feel I need to have all mine graded.

I have had chances in the past, to pick up a set of MS 69 ASE's
in NGC slabs, but passed on them. I could see maybe getting a set
in the future.

Wow, beautiful set. I only got 2000 to date, with 2000-07 being Unc, and 07-14 being proof. I was thinking of saving up and buying my grandfather's silver eagles (dansco album 86-05). Thanks for posting this!

No collection of ASE is complete without that enameled one. That is a lot of silver.

My set is not quite complete. I do need the 1995 W.
I am sure I have more, need to dig through more boxes.

In the group picture there are 5 of the burnished coin .... Have to find the
other two.

I also did not put the blank ASE albums I am doing for my three grand kids.
One for each year, since they were born.

I am really liking stacking the silver. In the picture there are 276 loose bullion coins.

Another cool part is even my wife likes the look of a lot of eagles.

"enameled" ASE?
I prefer the gilded Liberty one over the colorized version. Nowhere near the OP's holdings, simply have one of each year (minus the 95WP) & used the PCGS MS70 for the filler in 2009 (all 2,3,5 ASE coin sets though). It is a poor man's St. Gauden's. ;-)

What about the millennium set that had a 2000 BU issued with a Sacagawea dollar? Oh and I have a proof 1986, 1987, and 1988 NGC PF69 ASE that I am looking to trade or sell. Pm me if you are interested, Ghostrider.

Again .. thanks for the replies.

Really made this post just to show options to some members that were asking about ways to collect ASE's and how many coins there are.

I did not include the millennium set, but it is a options.
I could see sometime in the future buying all the similar sets, and keeping them in the OGP. I have had sets like
them in the past and break them out.

Here are a couple that did not make the group picture.

How-I-Collect-American-Eagles

Last year, if I remember right .. the burnish mint box ASE sold out before I ordered. So I had to order this set.
How-I-Collect-American-Eagles

This is one of the Dansco albums I am putting together for one of my grand kids. Two blank pages, 9 per page. So if they are responsible ... I will give it to them when it is
filled .. on their 17th birthday.

Just ordered some clear label tape .. my wife wants to try and label them.
