The only thing worse than just a stock photo is a listing that also uses just the description from the listing catalog. That's an auction killer in my book.
It's even worse when you live outside the US on the other side of the Earth. You gotta pay for return shipping to get a refund when you aren't satisfied, and that shipping price is waaay to expensive. That's a reason I can't buy from ebay too, because most times the shipping & handling fee is terrifically expensive.
I agree, too. I think it is unethical, especially for licensed dealers, not to give a fair description and their honest opinion of the condition. I shouldn't have to guess at whether a photo is staged to disguise a problem. I wouldn't buy from a shop that treated me with less consideration.
Especially when you see it in a 2x2 holder with writing on it you just assume its the coin you are getting. 99 out of 100 times it usually is. I'll bet the other bidders haven't a clue, and the received coin will have dings.
