I went to the bank yesterday to get rid of some heads-heads bank rolls of UNC 2014 P Senandoah Quarters that had been sitting around here. I decided to break them open and search them for errors, and lo and behold this interesting piece was smack dab in the middle of the fifth roll I broke open. Its obviously a struck through! The thing struck into washington's head seems to be metallic to me, perhaps it is a piece of metal that fell off a chipped die?
What might this thing be worth? I'm debating sending it out to get certified. I haven't seen any other Shenandoah struck through, so perhaps this is the first one found?

I think it's a retained interior die break.

I'd get it slabbed.

I'm not completely sure from those scans, but it does appear to be a struck through error, as you say.

If so, it isn't worth much - certainly not enough to warrant its being certified by a TPG.
