The forum Dad and the rest of the staff have decided to ease the restriction on posting coins that contain nude images. However there are going to be a few rules that we will need to follow.
1, The coins of Thaos are explicitly graphic and will still be censored or removed depending on how graphic they are.
2, No off color comments or remarks will be allowed.

Seems like a lot of extra work for the mods to censor which nudes are OK or not. We have gone this long without the nude coins and are still the best site. With all due respect to those who collect those Coins, leave well enough alone. IMHO. John1

Whats wrong with ancient nude image coins? Nothing But bills with nude imagery are still posted on CCF... how are they any different? They are not. I guess it all depends on what everyone considers tasteful. We do not want to offend any of the YN's do we? This issue may turn out to be a non issue. Maybe some of the YN's could chime in on this so we know their opinions. John1

I see them as works of art. Do museums treat nudity in paintings with censorship? As long as the poster isn't purposely highlighting that it's a nude etc to draw attention to it I don't see it as a big deal. Same with comments, it should be a non issue. Are we not going to allow images of 1916 Standing Liberty quarters on here? I'm not a yn though since I'm 27.

John this is not a issue. It has been discussed at length by folks that know about ancients and the staff and has been decided that they should be allowed. These types of coins have been apart of the history of coinage and should therefore not be excluded. There is only one type that may be considered overly explicit, these will be monitored and either edited or removed if found to be too offensive.

After reading the comments and doing some internet reading I agree that most of the coins would fall in to the category of "works of art" so I am on board. I have no problem with nudes on money, I was just a bit concerned about the YN's. I am sure the mods will do a great job as they always do. John1

From one who has been 'censored', I back the 'Moderators' on this one.
We should leave the decision to them, (gladly).
There are enough 'general' coins to be going on with, without getting 'bogged down' with a small part of a small section of a small number (about 10 I think) of coins.

I'm withholding opinion until I've had a chance to examine all the evidence. But seriously, I never considered the subject. Now I'm curious to see how it pans out.

I think there's a good few more than that. Any Roman Provincial with Priapus on the reverse (of which there are many) could be considered rude in todays polite soceity.
