Filled Hole On A Morgan?

I hope you can see on the pictures at about 12:00 on the top of the obverse (between I-B) is a spot. Is this commonly what a filled hole looks like? There is nothing on the reverse I can see in relation to the spot on the obverse.

Not a filled hole, that looks more like a toning spot, possibly a tiny piece of improper mixed alloy was captured in the planchet, a bit of steel may have changed color and made that discolored spot.

That's not a "filled hole". It is corrosion or a heavy carbon spot in my opinion.

I agree with the others and I think the coin would grade MS62

Thanks to all that replied. I guess maybe I was overthinking things. I couldn't figured out why it would be doctored or altered, if that's what the consensus happened to be.

I did dab a small swab of dip on the area and it did not alter the color or size of the spot.

IMO its either a carbon spot, or even more likely a splash of acid touched it.

Holes are usually much rounder than that, AND a little larger.
