I have never heard of an official (pattern?) Canadian silver dollar of Edward V111.
I may believe it, if anybody can produce a photo of any one of the 6 - 8 examples alleged to exist.

There are LOTS of commercial, unofficial Edward V111 fantasy crown sized coins of British Commonwealrh nations. Even I have a few in several metals, and they ain't worth much.

I have never heard of such coin? But if it's on the internet it must be true.

I used to have an Edward VIII fantasy Canadian dollar. I think it was put out by Pobjoy Mint but I am not sure. There are also Queen Victoria fantasy dollars and I think 1911 dollars from the same mint. In silver they trade a little above bullion value. There are some true Great Britain Edward VIII patterns, but none for Canada as far as I have heard.

answers.com will give you an answer. Not necessarily the correct or right answer, but an answer nonetheless.

None of the fantasies have dollar on them. The maker of these did not intend for them to be confused with anything real.

At GBP 50, I think that the commercial FANTASTY Edward V111 dollar / crown sized pieces are way overpriced in any metal except gold.

The gold pieces are 9ct gold reduced size, and increased price, and I think that they are overpriced as well, despite their relative scarcity. Scarcity, that is, until they make more of them.
